Civilization I is the 2.6 MB DOS game that started it all. What was originally a take-off of simcity became a gaming masterpiece that would go on to conquer the gaming industry, leaving a best-selling series of games and an unforgettable legacy in its wake.

Quarantine is a 1994 racing/first-person shooter computer game for MS-DOS and 3DO, created by Imagexcel and published by GameTek. In the game the player drives a taxicab through a post-apocalyptic city, picking up customers and killing enemies. Due to the gratuitous violence the game was controversial at the time of release.

NetStorm takes place in the world of Nimbus, a planet whose crust has been sent floating off in to the atmosphere by the never-ending battles between the three god-like beings called "The Furies", representing Wind, Rain and Thunder. This is a pure racing game, where up to four miniature vehicles careen around high-speed tracks. Hexen II is a first person shooter computer game developed by Raven Software from 1996 to 1997, published by id Software and distributed by Activision. It is the third game in the Hexen/Heretic series, and the last in the Serpent Riders trilogy. Using a modified Quake engine, it features single player and multi player game modes, as well as four character classes to choose from, each with different abilities. These include the offensive Paladin, the defensive Crusader, the spellcasting Necromancer, and the stealthy Assassin.

This new version of the ten-player game comes complete with 3D rendered graphics and new character animations. Keeping true to the original, the game makes you think fast as you vie for deadly power-ups, race against the clock, and blow your opponents to smithereens. This new build contains all of the sound files missing from the earlier version.

Parents beware, the two relentlessly infantile voices of a lost generation have made the jump in screen resolution from MTV to your computer.
What's funny is that they don't look any better. In fact, the crudely-drawn stylized artwork of the television series is accurately reproduced on the jagged lines of a computer screen. To complete the effect, Viacom New Media borrowed the original voice talent from the series, which creates a very smooth transition from linear to interactive, and in the process one very funny game.
All you'd expect from the eternally juvenile duo is here: fart jokes, painfully obvious sexual innuendoes, glorification of anything illegal or immoral, and the fruitless pursuit of girlfriends with one-liners such as, "Hey, um, do you like to do, like, stuff?" As with the show, the writers' satirical genius puts these antics into a perspective that makes everything undeniably funny.
You appropriately control the two half-wits with a simple set of commands, using a mouse-driven interface that looks and operates suspiciously like a LucasArts adventure game.
In fact, Virtual Stupidity is largely unoriginal in its approach to interactive adventures, and even some of the puzzles are secondhand fare. But that's just not the point here. What makes this game so entertaining (and I gleefully played it through to the end) are the actions and reactions of the intelligence-challenged duo to the people and objects around them. Imagine the two as they interrogate patients on a mentally-deranged ward at the local jail. Or picture the look on Beavis' face as he inflates his shorts with a gas station air hose. Priceless.
Some adventure games test your cunning, your skill, and your MacGyver-like aptitude in building a flare gun from toothpicks and oily cloth. Virtual Stupidity does none of the above, but instead thrives as a refreshing, contemporary, relaxing exercise in moronic humor.

Mortal Kombat was the first entry in the famous Mortal Kombat fighting game series by Midway, released in arcades in 1992. It was later picked up by Acclaim Games for the home version, then later returned to Midway. It centers on the first Mortal Kombat tournament and the ultimate defeat of the evil Shang Tsung by the monk Liu Kang.

Mortal Kombat 4 (1997) was the last game in the Mortal Kombat series to have an arcade version. It was updated into Mortal Kombat Gold a year later for the Sega Dreamcast. MK Gold's story overrides MK4's. It is one of the few 3D fighting games to have been described as having "2D gameplay."
