Mumble allows multiple people to have text based conversations using
multicast. This is very much like IRC in the sense that you can have
a large number of people typing messages to each other, but also
combines properties of such programs as VAT (audio) and NV (video)
and other MBONE utilities. MUMBLE requires very little except for
access to a multicast network. This includes most ethernet subnets.
Using mumble across your sites whole network will require multicast
capable routers, and/or running mrouted on a workstation with more
then one network interface. To get global access your site will
need to be hooked up to the MBONE.
